#ViksitBharat Yuva Connect Programme Launched at AMU’s Dental College

TNN News : Under the Government of India’s visionary “Viksit Bharat 2047” initiative, Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University, has launched the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect programme to inspire and engage youth in nation-building through health awareness and community service.
As part of the programme, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, led by Prof. Neha Agrawal, organised a rural outreach activity at the Rural Health Training Centre. A dedicated team comprising Dr Shazia, Dr Ramsha Ahsam, and Dr Zainab Rauf visited Jawan village, where they interacted with young residents to promote oral hygiene and the prevention of dental diseases.
The awareness sessions highlighted the crucial link between oral health and overall well-being, stressing how oral diseases can adversely affect systemic health. The team also counselled participants to quit all forms of tobacco, underlining its harmful effects on oral and general health.
Principal Prof. R. K. Tewari commended the team’s efforts, noting that the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect programme reflects AMU’s commitment to the ideals of Viksit Bharat 2047 by fostering a healthier and more aware society.
The programme received enthusiastic participation from local youth, who engaged in interactive discussions and pledged to adopt better oral hygiene practices.
