JMI Students Deliver an Outstanding Performance at VMAC 2026

The Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia proudly congratulates Mr. Aziz Umar (3rd Year), Ms. Syeda Yusra (4th Year), and Ms. Sarah Azfar (3rd Year) for their remarkable performance at the Virtual Mediation Advocacy Competition (VMAC) 2026.

Representing Jamia Millia Islamia, the students competed against more than 60 teams in the prestigious competition, demonstrating exceptional skills in mediation, advocacy, negotiation, and facilitation.

As recognition of their commendable performance, the team was awarded the VMAC Scholarship worth ₹20,000. In addition, the team secured the 5th Prize in the Special Awards Category, carrying a prize of ₹1,000. The team thus received total awards and recognition worth ₹21,000.

This achievement reflects the students’ dedication, preparation, and commitment to developing their expertise in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Their performance brings distinction to the Faculty of Law and adds another significant accomplishment to Jamia Millia Islamia’s growing presence in national and international ADR competitions.

The Faculty acknowledges the constant encouragement and support of Prof. (Dr.) Ghulam Yazdani, Dean, Faculty of Law, and Dr. Alisha Khatun, Faculty Convenor, for providing students with opportunities to participate in and excel at ADR competitions.

In the Mediation Advocacy examination, the team demonstrated exceptional proficiency, successfully completing the examination with an aggregate score of 100%, reflecting their strong command of mediation advocacy skill.

The team also expresses its sincere gratitude to Ms. Isra Mukhtar  and Ms. Khadija  Mirza for their dedicated mentorship, valuable guidance, and continuous support throughout the competition.

The Faculty of Law extends its heartfelt congratulations to Aziz Umar, Syeda Yusra, and Sarah Azfar on this commendable achievement and wishes them continued success in their future endeavours.
