AMU Surgeon Completes Prestigious International Fellowship in Spain
TNN News : Dr. Md. Yusuf Afaque, Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has successfully completed an international travelling fellowship in Madrid, Spain.
Awarded by the Hernia Society of India, the fellowship recognizes Dr.Afaque’s significant contributions to the field of advanced hernia surgery. His work focused on innovative surgical techniques aimed at improving patient outcomes and advancing the management of complex hernias.
The European fellowship provided Dr.Afaque with an opportunity to collaborate with globally renowned experts and gain exposure to the latest advancements in abdominal wall surgery. The fellowship was hosted at the prestigious Madrid Abdominal Wall Surgery Unit, which is considered one of the leading centres of its kind in the world.
During his time in Madrid, Dr.Afaque worked with internationally acclaimed surgeons, including Prof. Dr. Miguel Ángel García Ureña, Prof. Dr. Javier López Monclús, and Dr. Luiz Blázquez, all of whom are recognized authorities in complex hernia repair.
