AMU Research Scholar Awarded Prestigious Ernst Mach Grant
TNN News : Jannisar Akhter, a PhD student from the Department of Foreign Languages at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has been awarded the prestigious Ernst Mach Grant by OeAD, Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation.
He will spend two months (April–May 2026) at the University of Vienna, where he will conduct research in Hispanic Studies under the supervision of Prof. Matthias Hausmann.
The grant includes a monthly stipend of €1,300 and an additional €1,200 to cover travel expenses.
Jannisar’s achievement has been warmly commended by his supervisor, Dr. Mayuresh Kumar, and the Dean of the Faculty of International Studies, Prof. Mohammad Azhar.
