AMU Research Scholar Presents Work at Prestigious Goldschmidt Conference 2025

TNN News : Mr Mukhtar Hasan Ahmad, a Senior Research Fellow pursuing his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. S. A. Rashid in the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), recently participated in the internationally acclaimed Goldschmidt Conference 2025, held recently in Prague, Czech Republic.
At the conference, Mr Ahmad presented a research poster titled “Weathering Indices and Climate-Driven Carbon Sequestration Potential in a Northwestern Himalayan Lacustrine Environment, Kashmir Valley, India.” His work focused on the interactions between chemical weathering, carbon sequestration, and climate influences in the ecologically sensitive Himalayan region.
Mr Ahmad was awarded the Early Career Goldschmidt Conference Grant, a competitive and prestigious international grant, which supported his participation. The event provided him with a valuable platform to engage with leading geochemists, collaborate with fellow early-career researchers, and receive expert feedback on his research.
Prof. Rashid Umar, Chairperson of the Department of Geology, congratulated Mr. Mukhtar Hasan Ahmad for representing AMU at this high-level scientific forum and showcasing his doctoral research to an international audience.
