Dental Health Camp Held at Iqra Public School on National Oral Hygiene Day

TNN News : In observance of National Oral Hygiene Day, the Public Health Dentistry section of the Department of Periodontia and Community Dentistry, Dr. Z.A. Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organized a dental health camp at Iqra Public School to promote oral hygiene awareness among schoolchildren.
A team comprising junior residents and interns, under the supervision of Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav and Dr. Syed Amaan Ali, conducted oral examinations for approximately 245 students. As part of the initiative, tooth brushing techniques were demonstrated and essential oral hygiene instructions were provided to instill healthy habits from an early age. Toothpaste was also distributed to all students as part of the preventive dental care drive.
Students diagnosed with dental problems were referred to Dr. Z.A. Dental College and Hospital for further treatment.
Dr. Neha Agrawal, Chairperson of the Department, remarked, “Through such outreach programs, we aim to instill the value of oral hygiene in young minds and bridge the gap between awareness and access to care.”
The initiative received strong support from Ms. Ishrat Parveen, Principal of Iqra Public School, and Prof. R.K. Tiwari, Principal of Dr. Z.A. Dental College and Hospital, who both appreciated the effort and reiterated their commitment to student welfare and community health outreach.
The camp was actively conducted by junior residents Dr.Shazia Nahid and Dr.Hridya, along with interns Dr. Sana Nasrin and Dr.Qurratulain. Dental hygienists Ms. Muskan and Ms. Amanat also played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of the program.
