New Delhi, August 8, 2026: Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman of the Centre for NaMo Studies (CNMS), met former Chief Justice of India Justice K. G. Balakrishnan in New Delhi, along with Dr. Anu Bhuvanachandran, author of Beyond the Brief: Jurisprudential Shifts in the Apex Court, a significant work featuring a foreword by former Chief Justice of India Justice B. R. Gavai.
During the meeting, the dignitaries held an engaging discussion on the enduring relevance of the Constitution, constitutional values, and the importance of Fundamental Duties in strengthening India’s democratic ethos. The interaction assumes special significance as the nation marks 80 years of Independence and celebrates the spirit of #HarGharTiranga.
Prof. Jasim Mohammad also briefed Justice K. G. Balakrishnan about the upcoming National Seminar on “Constitutional Values and Fundamental Duties,” being organised by CNMS to mark the 80th Independence Day. The seminar aims to promote informed dialogue on the Constitution, its core values, and the role of citizens in strengthening India’s democracy.
The discussion also touched upon Dr. Anu Bhuvanachandran’s book, Beyond the Brief, which examines significant jurisprudential shifts and developments in the Supreme Court. The book seeks to make complex legal and constitutional developments accessible to students, researchers, and general readers.
