AMU NSS Organizes Poshan Pakhwada to Promote Nutrition Awareness

TNN News : The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a Poshan Pakhwada awareness program at the Seminar Hall of the Department of Amraze Jild, A.K. Tibbiya College, underscoring the vital role of nutrition in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and to align with the nationwide Poshan Abhiyan initiative.
The chief guest, Prof. Neeta Varshney, NSS Coordinator at Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University, Aligarh, stressed the importance of incorporating balanced nutrition into daily routine. She highlighted the need for such initiatives to build a healthier society.
Dr. Mohd Mohsin Khan, NSS Coordinator at AMU, delivered the welcome address, drawing attention to the growing need for nutrition awareness, particularly among youth.
A comprehensive presentation on “An Approach to Understand Nutrition” was made by Dr. Mohd Mohsin, Chairman of the Department of Amraze Jild wa Zohrawiya. His session provided valuable insights into the basics of nutrition and its impact on overall health.
Dr. Nawalur Rehman Khan convened the program and emphasized practical steps individuals can take to improve dietary habits. Mr. Naeem conducted the proceedings.
The program concluded with a collective call to promote healthy food practices in alignment with the objectives of the Poshan Abhiyan—India’s flagship nutrition mission aimed at ensuring a healthier future for all.
