AMU’s Department of Ilaj bit Tadbeer Organises Free Health Camp under ‘Eat Right Campaign’

TNN News : The Department of Ilaj bit Tadbeer, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University, organised a Free Health Camp as part of the nationwide “Eat Right Campaign” launched by the Government of India to promote safe, healthy and sustainable eating habits.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Mohd Tafseer Ali, Officiating Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine; Prof. Badrudduja Khan, Principal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College; and special guest Prof. Tanveer Ahmad from Jamia Millia Islamia.
The camp attracted strong participation from the local community, serving as a successful outreach effort to encourage healthier dietary practices aimed at reducing the growing prevalence of metabolic disorders such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity. Services provided included expert medical consultation, nutrition counselling, free distribution of medicines, and comprehensive health screenings, including BMI measurement, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing and cholesterol checks.
The event was also attended by Prof. Asia Sultana, Chairperson, Department of Ilaj bit Tadbeer; Prof. Mohd Anwar; Dr M Saad A Khan; Dr M Shoaib; Dr Safia Usmani; and Dr Shamama Usmani, along with postgraduate scholars, who offered personalised nutrition guidance to attendees.
The programme was conducted with the slogan “Desh Ki Unnati Ka Aadhaar, Poshit Ho Hum Sab Ka Aahaar” (A nation’s progress begins with nutritious food for all), emphasising the role of proper nutrition in building a healthier and more productive society.
