Experts call for stronger education-industry linkages, innovation and entrepreneurship to achieve Viksit Bharat @2047
Gen Z Must Become the Engine of India’s Industrial Growth: Chief Guest Dr Abhishek Verma at CNMS-MSCW National Seminar at New Delhi

India’s Gen Z must move beyond being consumers of technology and emerge as innovators, entrepreneurs, skilled professionals and creators of employment if the country is to realise its vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Chief Guest Dr Abhishek Verma, Chief National Coordinator, ShivSena-NDA Alliance said at national seminar organised by the Centre for NaMo Studies (CNMS) in collaboration with Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi, here on Tuesday.
The national seminar, titled “How Gen Z Can Contribute to Industrialising Viksit Bharat @2047,” was held at Bebe Nanki Hall, MSCW University of Delhi and brought together industrialists, academics, professionals, faculty members and students for a wide-ranging discussion on the role of young Indians in strengthening the country’s industrial, technological and economic foundations.
Chief Guest Dr Abhishek Verma, Chief National Coordinator, ShivSena-NDA Alliance and Chairman, Skanda Atomics Private Limited, stressed the need to bridge the gap between education and industry. He said the rapid growth of artificial intelligence, robotics, automation and other emerging technologies was transforming workplaces and making continuous learning, reskilling and adaptability essential.
Chief Guest Dr Abhishek Verma called for greater emphasis on internships, industry exposure, applied research, practical projects and entrepreneurship initiatives so that students can connect classroom learning with real-world challenges. He also noted that industrialisation must extend beyond large factories to include MSMEs, traditional industries, local enterprises and emerging businesses, where Gen Z can introduce digital tools and new technologies to improve productivity and market access.
Dr Vinod K. Verma, President, Group Corporate Affairs, Aditya Birla Group, said technical knowledge must be complemented by communication, creativity, analytical thinking, teamwork and adaptability.
Priti Srivastava, Mentor & Founder DayaRani Wellness & Ex Sr VP Reliance , emphasised discipline, leadership, perseverance and problem-solving, while Firoz Bakht Ahmed, Former Chancellor, MANUU Hyderabad, highlighted the importance of global competitiveness, quality and innovation for Indian enterprises.
Prof Jasim Mohammad, Chairman, CNMS, said India’s demographic advantage could become a powerful developmental force only when young people receive the right skills, opportunities and institutional support. He urged Gen Z to see itself not merely as a beneficiary but as an active participant in the journey towards Viksit Bharat. He highlighted entrepreneurship, research, innovation, AI, robotics and digital technologies as major avenues through which young people can contribute.
The session was moderated by Prof Divya Tanwar. The programme began with a welcome address by Principal of MSCW Prof Harpreet Kaur, while CNMS RA Tushita Bhandari proposed the Vote of Thanks.
The speakers emphasised that India’s industrial transformation will require more than infrastructure and investment. A skilled, disciplined, innovative and entrepreneurial Gen Z can become one of the strongest drivers of India’s journey towards a more productive, technologically advanced and globally competitive economy by 2047.
