Summer Camp Concludes at AMU Riding Club

TNN News : The month-long summer camp organized by the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Riding Club concluded with a closing ceremony. A total of 22 participants completed the training, learning the fundamentals and finer techniques of horse riding.
Chief Guest,former AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez highlighted the importance of acquiring life skills during student life, citing horse riding as a valuable pursuit that builds discipline and confidence. He congratulated the new riders on their achievement.
Guest of Honour, Prof. Mohammad Habib Raza, Principal, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, emphasized the role of physical fitness in personal development and spoke about how horse riding contributes to both physical and mental well-being.
Special Guest Prof. Mohd Shamim, Chairperson, Department of TB & Respiratory Diseases, JNMC, AMU, described such activities as an investment in personal growth. He noted that riding helps develop courage and self-control, particularly by helping individuals overcome fear.
Prof. S. Amjad Ali Rizvi, Secretary, University Games Committee, commended the participants and encouraged wider student participation in the Riding Club. He also shared the proud legacy of the club, which has a history spanning 136 years.
Prof. Wasif Mohammad Ali, President of the Riding Club, conducted the programme, while Captain Mohd Umair Khan presented the club’s achievements at various national-level tournaments. Participants shared their experiences and appreciation through testimonials, acknowledging their coach’s guidance and dedication.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Coach Imran Khan.
