Seven AMU NCC Cadets Win Top Honours at CATC-42 Camp

TNN News : Showcasing exemplary performance and team spirit, seven cadets from the 1/8 and 2/8 Companies of the NCC Unit at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) secured top positions at the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-42) held from July 2 to July 11, 2025, at Mangalayatan University, Beswan. The camp was organized by the 8 UP Battalion NCC, Aligarh.
UO Deepak Kumar was honoured with a Gold Medal for his role as Camp Senior, while Sgt. Md. Aamir Hussain won a Gold Medal in the Cultural Programme. Sgt. Aryan Ansari clinched the Gold in the Singing Competition, and Sgt. Ibshar Ali earned a Gold Medal for his participation in the Flag Area event. In the Tug of War competition, Sgt. Owais Khan, Sgt. Deepanshu, and Sgt. Yuvraj Maan Rana collectively secured Gold Medals, contributing to the overall success of the AMU contingent.
Throughout the ten-day camp, cadets received consistent motivation and support from Col. Ajay Lumba, Camp Commandant and Commanding Officer of the 8 UP Battalion NCC. In recognition of their achievements, the cadets were felicitated at the NCC Unit, AMU, by Capt. Farooq Ahmad Dar, Company Commander of 1/8 Coy, and Capt. Najaf Ali Khan, Company Commander of 2/8 Coy.
