AMU Nursing Officer Commended for Exemplary Service during Amarnath Yatra 2025

TNN News : Mr. Sampat Raj Kumhar, Nursing Officer at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, has been lauded by the Medical Director, Yatra 2025 (Baltal), Jammu & Kashmir, for his outstanding service during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025.
He was deputed to the Barari Marg Medical Aid Centre on the Baltal route from July 12 to July 28, 2025, as part of the second batch of medical personnel. Despite the high-altitude terrain and challenging weather conditions, Mr. Kumhar performed his duties with exceptional sincerity, professionalism, and dedication.
During his deployment, Mr. Kumhar provided round-the-clock medical assistance to yatris suffering from high-altitude illnesses, dehydration, low oxygen saturation, chest discomfort, and fatigue due to the strenuous terrain and cold climate. His prompt assessment and effective treatment were instrumental in preventing the escalation of several medical emergencies.
The Medical Director at Baltal Base Camp acknowledged Mr. Kumhar’s performance as exemplary, noting that his contributions ensured the safety and well-being of pilgrims and established a benchmark for medical services during the Yatra.
Other officials also commended his role in delivering emergency care and patient support, describing his service as “commendable and invaluable” in safeguarding the health of the pilgrims.
