जय हिन्द वन्देमातरम
Aadaraniya Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw
Hon’ble Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting
Govt of India
Subject: Humble Appeal for Preserving the Sanctity and Dignity of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir
आदरणीय श्री अश्विनी वैष्णव जी, नमस्ते
I write this letter with a deep sense of respect, concern, and responsibility as a citizen of India who believes in the values of mutual respect, communal harmony, and reverence for all places of faith.
Over the past few days, various reports, discussions, allegations, and media debates concerning Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya have been appearing across television channels, newspapers, and social media platforms. While every institution and public project is subject to accountability and transparency, I humbly submit that the Ram Mandir occupies a unique and sacred place in the hearts of millions of Indians and therefore deserves to be treated with exceptional sensitivity.
For countless devotees, the Ram Mandir is not merely a structure of stone and architecture; it is a symbol of faith, sacrifice, civilizational memory, and spiritual aspiration. Generations of people devoted their lives, energies, and emotions to the realization of this dream. For many, its construction represents the culmination of a long and deeply cherished journey.
As a Indian Muslim, I feel it is my moral duty to state that the sanctity of every religious place, whether it belongs to Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, or any other community, must be respected and protected. The Ram Mandir today stands not only as a place of worship but also as a symbol of India’s cultural heritage and collective consciousness. Therefore, any controversy surrounding it naturally causes anguish among people who hold it dear.
I fully understand that if there are administrative, financial, or procedural matters requiring examination, the concerned authorities are competent to undertake such inquiries. Accountability is an essential feature of every democratic society. However, my humble appeal is that such matters may be dealt with through appropriate institutional mechanisms rather than through excessive public sensationalism that risks overshadowing the spiritual significance of this sacred site.
In recent times, television debates and media discussions have increasingly transformed serious matters into spectacles. While public discourse is important, there are occasions when restraint serves the larger public interest. A place as revered as Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir deserves dignity in discussion, sobriety in reporting, and responsibility in public communication.
My concern is not about preventing legitimate inquiry or suppressing facts. Rather, it is about ensuring that the sanctity of a holy place does not become a casualty of sensational headlines, political rhetoric, or speculative commentary. Matters requiring attention can be examined internally and professionally by the appropriate authorities without creating an atmosphere that may inadvertently hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees.
I therefore earnestly request your good office to take all necessary measures to safeguard the dignity, sanctity, and public esteem of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. I also request that all stakeholders, including public institutions and media organizations, exercise restraint and responsibility while dealing with issues related to this sacred place.

India’s strength lies in its ability to respect faith while upholding accountability, and to protect sacred traditions while adhering to democratic principles. I am confident that under your leadership, every effort will be made to maintain this delicate balance.
