JMI’s Dr. Mohd. Faijullah Khan felicitated at Delhi Government’s “Ek Shaam Divyangjan Ke Naam” function
The Department of Social Welfare, Government of NCT of Delhi, organised “Initiative for Welfare, Inclusion & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities – Ek Shaam Divyangjan Ke Naam”, focusing on the rights, inclusion, dignity and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
The programme was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of the Government of India, Dr. Virendra Kumar; Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta Ji; Hon’ble Minister, Government of Delhi, Shri Ravinder Indrajit Singh Ji; and senior officials of the Department of Social Welfare, Government of NCT of Delhi.
A significant moment of pride for Jamia Millia Islamia was the felicitation of Dr. Mohd. Faijullah Khan, Secretary, Dr. Zakir Husain Memorial Welfare Society (ZHMWS) and Nodal & Grievance Redressal Officer for Persons with Disabilities, Jamia Millia Islamia, in recognition of his valuable contribution to disability education, rehabilitation, inclusion and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.The growing recognition of Jamia Millia Islamia in the field of disability and inclusive education reflects the University’s continued commitment to creating an inclusive, accessible and empowering environment for Persons with Disabilities.
A particularly memorable moment of the programme was when children with special needs from the Child Guidance Centre (CGC), Jamia Millia Islamia, welcomed Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta Ji, by presenting her with a hand-painted stole prepared by the students. The gesture beautifully showcased the creativity, abilities and confidence of children with special needs.Students from the Child Guidance Centre and the Centre for Women’s Condensed Course participated in the programme and gained valuable awareness about their rights, entitlements, opportunities and avenues for empowerment.
The participation of CGC students and the entire team highlighted Jamia’s commitment to dignity, inclusion, equal participation and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.The occasion was a memorable and proud moment for Jamia Millia Islamia, the Child Guidance Centre and the disability sector, reflecting the University’s continued efforts towards building a more inclusive and empowered society.

Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI, the University continues to strengthen its institutional commitment towards inclusive education, accessibility, rehabilitation, equal opportunities and the holistic development of students with disabilities.
