Academic Delegation from Philippines visits JMI’s Mushir Fatma Nursery School

TNN News : an International delegation from the Republic of Philippines visited Mushir Fatma Nursery School (MFNS) at Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI). The purpose of the visit was to understand the methods, practices, and overall educational approach in early childhood education at MFNS. The delegation, which was from the Department of Education, Schools Division of Benguet, Philippines, aimed to explore potential opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and mutual development in the field of early childhood education.
The delegation consisted of the following key members: Lorna M. Yaco, PhD, Education Program Specialist II, Department of Education-Benguet, Philippines; Remy N. Dum-Ao, PhD, Education Program Supervisor/Alternative Learning System, Department of Education-Benguet, Philippines and Kenneth W. Kelcho, MPA, Tourism Officer, Department of Education-Benguet, Philippines. The team was accompanied by Prof.Jessy Abraham, Head, Dept of
and NFE, JMI.


The team was warmly received by the school Headmistress, Mrs. Rukhsana Parveen , along with the teachers and administrative staff. Mrs. Parveen provided an overview of the school’s mission, vision, and educational philosophy. She said that the MFNS is renowned for its child-centered approach and commitment to fostering creativity, social skills, and emotional intelligence in young learners. The delegation was introduced to the school’s staff, and an overview of the curriculum was presented. The delegation was impressed with the school’s integration of play-based learning, holistic development, and inclusive practices.
Further, the delegation was given a tour of the classrooms, where they observed a range of activities that reflected the school’s commitment to high-quality early education. The classrooms were designed to be stimulating, safe, and supportive environments, with a focus on child-led learning.

The delegation expressed their intent to maintain ongoing communication with MFNS and explore the possibility of formalizing partnerships in the future.
