AMU Geology Students Shine at Protolith 2025 Symposium

TNN News : A team of seven postgraduate students from the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), participated with enthusiasm at the Protolith 2025 – Student Scientific Symposium for Earth Sciences organized by the Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Bombay in Mumbai from March 21 to 23, 2025.
The participating students, Abuzar, Daarain Tabrez, Md Arib Khan, Mohammad Faraz Hussain, Mohd Shadan Khan, Anas Khan, and Mohd Aun, competed against teams from several prestigious institutions across India. The AMU Geology team secured the 1st Runner-up Position in the event.
Chairperson of the Department of Geology, Prof Rashid Umar, congratulated the students on their notable accomplishment. He remarked, “These accomplishments reaffirm our commitment to nurturing young talent and preparing them to face life’s challenges through participation in such workshops and symposiums.”
The success of the AMU team reflects the institution’s focus on fostering academic growth and participation on national platforms, he added.
