PM to Inaugurate Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Sammelan on 23 October

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Sammelan at 11 AM on 23 October 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.
The three-day Sammelan, being held from 23 to 25 October 2026, will bring together over 9,000 participants from India and abroad. It marks the culmination of the year-long celebrations commemorating 75 years of the Chinmaya Mission, a global spiritual movement founded by Swami Chinmayananda in 1951 to make the wisdom of Vedanta and the Bhagavad Gita accessible to all. Over the decades, the Mission has expanded its work across spiritual education, cultural preservation, youth empowerment and community service.
The year-long celebrations began last year with the Prime Minister releasing a Tamil versification of the Bhagavad Gita, produced by Chinmaya Mission with music by Ilaiyaraaja, at Gangaikonda Cholapuram in Tamil Nadu. Several initiatives and events were organised during the year, including mass havans at multiple locations, consecration of the Maa Soundarya Chinmayi Temple in Tripura, and Chinmaya Gita Samarpanam under which over 1 lakh people across the world chanted the 15th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita together online. A major initiative of the celebrations was Gita Panchamrit, centred on five select verses of the Bhagavad Gita. To take the message of the Gita across the country, 15 young members of Chinmaya Yuva Kendra undertook the Chinmaya Amrit Yatra, travelling over 40,000 km across the country.
