Faculty of Education, JMI, organizes Orientation Programme for its faculty members in view of Strengthening Implementation of NEP-2020
TNN News : The Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia conducted an Orientation Programme of its faculty members on 31 July 2025 for NEP related themes. All the teachers belonging to its various departments and Centers participated in it very enthusiastically. The orientation programme of the faculty members was meant for discussing and orienting the faculty members regarding strengthening the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020.
The programme was organized as a part of the initiatives and notification towards the conduct of Orientation Programme for all faculty members by all Faculties of Jamia Millia Islamia. Thanks to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif, and Registrar, JMI, Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi for this well thought programme.
The key themes covered were Academic affairs, SWAYAM MOOCs, NEP 2020 Key Features, IT Resources and Preparedness, Examination Reforms, CBCS, Research and Innovations etc.
The programme began with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Dr. Md. Asjad Ansari, followed by a warm welcome of panel of experts and faculty members by the Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. Jessy Abraham. She also highlighted the key features of the NEP 2020 and our implementation progress.
Prof. Tanuja, the Dean, Academic Affairs, delivered her address on a newly carved-out plan of the academic activities and modalities for the new session 2025-26 with a focus on implementation of NEP 2020 provisions, including the central time-table.
Prof. S.M. Muzakkir, the SWAYAM Coordinator/Nodal Officer of the University put light on the various aspects of the implementation of SWAYAM MOOCs. He also discussed the need of developing MOOCs by our faculty members. The discussion was followed by addressing the queries asked by Prof. Kaushal Kishore, and other faculty members.
Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, the Controller of Examinations, JMI very emphatically presented all the issues and concerns along with the examination reforms being implemented in JMI. He appreciated the teachers for completing the evaluation process and uploading of marks on time so that the CoE could declare the results on time.
Prof Mini Shaji Thomas, presented the details of NEP 2020 and the Multiple Entry Exit System and all other aspects of the National policy and their implementation in Jamia Millia Islamia in a very detailed manner with the help of a Power Point Presentation.
Mr. Sayed Mohammad Arif Ashraf, Senior System Analyst of FTK CIT, as the representative of Dr. S.K.Naqvi, Hony Director, FTK-CIT, presented the details of the IT preparation of the university for the purpose of NEP 2020 implementation.
Prof. Sarika Sharma talked about the Indian Knowledge System and its implementation in the Jamia Millia Islamia.
At the end, Prof. Jasim Ahmad, the programme coordinator, thanked all the experts for delivering their address and all the faculty members for their participation and making the programme a huge success.
The event was compered by Dr. Sameer Babu and Dr. Aerum Khan, the Associate Professors of DES and IASE respectively.
