Prof Aftab Alam Appointed Dean, Faculty of International Studies, AMU

TNN News : Prof Aftab Alam from the Department of Strategic and Security Studies at Aligarh Muslim University has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of International Studies for a two-year term, effective July 7, 2025.
Prof Alam, currently serving as Chairman of the Department of Strategic and Security Studies, is a Professor of International Relations. He holds MA, M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in Political Science from AMU, and an LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex, UK. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship awarded by the British Government.
With over 25 years of teaching and research experience, Prof Alam has supervised several M.Phil. and Ph.D. candidates, primarily in the fields of human rights and international relations. He has led a UGC-sponsored major research project on the educational rights of minorities and has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, presenting papers and chairing sessions.
