Aligarh Alumni Association of Atlanta recognition by the US Georgia State General Assembly, the House of Representatives and the Senate

TNN News : In a proud and historic moment for the global Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) community, the Aligarh Alumni Association of Atlanta (AAAA) has been officially recognised by both chambers of the Georgia State General Assembly—the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The honour was marked by a formal resolution by Georgia State Representative Matt Reeves applauding the Association’s dedication to preserving cultural heritage, promoting educational initiatives, and channelizing community spirit. The commendation was ceremoniously presented during AAAA’s annual Eid-ul-Fitr Family Picnic in Atlanta.
“This recognition reaffirms the enduring impact of AMU alumni across the United States,” stated Dr. Naushad Khan Ghilzai, Secretary of AAAA and the President of the Federation of Aligarh Alumni Associations of North America (FAAA).
Further emphasizing the significance of the occasion, the Georgia State Senate issued a separate resolution recognizing and commending the Aligarh Alumni Association of Atlanta for its contributions to education, community service and for organizing Atlanta’s largest festival gathering.
AAAA President Mr. Shahid Ali highlighted the importance of this acknowledgement, while Vice President Mr. Nawaid Tanzeem, Treasurer Mr. Samir Ansari, and Past President Dr. Shoeb Ahmad extended their appreciation to Georgia State Senator Sheikh Rahman for introducing and championing the resolution.
In a congratulatory message, the chairman of the AMU Alumni Affairs Committee, Prof. Sartaj Tabassum, remarked, “This recognition by both houses of the Georgia State Legislature not only highlights the exceptional contributions of the Aligarh Alumni Association of Atlanta but also stands as a powerful testament to AMU’s global legacy of knowledge, unity, and service.”
