AMU’s Sampat Raj Kumhar Publishes Research on Communicable Diseases in International Journal

TNN News : Sampat Raj Kumhar, Nursing Officer, Trauma ICU, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, along with co-authors Sanjay Soni and Kashinath Karfe, has published a research article titled “A Comprehensive Review of Communicable Disease: Challenges, Advances, and Future Directions” in the Global Foundation for Nursing Profession & Social Services (GFNPSS)-International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research.

The study examines the significant burden of communicable diseases, particularly in resource-limited settings, and highlights how globalization, urbanization, and climate change have exacerbated their spread. It provides an in-depth analysis of epidemiological trends, emphasizing the disproportionate impact on low- and middle-income countries. The paper discusses the prevalence of diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV/AIDS, while also addressing emerging infections like COVID-19 and Ebola, which underscore the need for robust surveillance and rapid response mechanisms.

The research highlights advancements in diagnostics, including molecular techniques like polymerase chain reaction (PCR), next-generation sequencing (NGS), and rapid point-of-care testing, which have enhanced early detection and case management.

The study concludes that while substantial advancements have been made in communicable disease management, continued innovation and global cooperation are crucial to overcoming remaining barriers and ensuring effective disease control worldwide.
