Prof. Raeesullah Khan appointed Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at AMU
TNN News : Prof. Raeesullah Khan, Department of Plant Protection, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has been appointed as Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, AMU, for the period from July 14, 2025 to May 1, 2027, the date of his superannuation.
Prof. Khan, who is currently serving as Chairman of the Department of Plant Protection, is an expert in plant pathology, brings over 23 years of academic and research experience. His work primarily centres on soil-borne fungal diseases impacting pulse crops and oilseed Brassicas, with an emphasis on sustainable and eco-friendly disease management strategies through integrated approaches. He has also conducted significant research on rhizospheric microorganisms, particularly Arbuscular Mycorrhizal (AM) fungi, investigating their role in enhancing plant health and disease resistance.
His scholarly output includes an impressive array of publications.
