Prof Uzma Eram Appointed Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine at J.N. Medical College, AMU
TNN News : Professor Uzma Eram of the Department of Community Medicine, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the department for a period of three years, effective from April 5, 2025.
Prof Eram brings with her over two decades of experience in teaching and research in the field of Community Medicine. She has authored a book, Causes of Depression and its Remedies among the Elderly People in the Community and contributed to the Practical Manual on Community Medicine for MBBS Students. In addition, she has written chapters in two academic books and has to her credit about 70 research papers and 22 abstracts published in esteemed national and international peer-reviewed journals. She has actively participated in over 82 conferences, seminars, and symposia.
With a solid grounding in epidemiology, biostatistics, and research methodology, she plays a pivotal role in shaping academic frameworks and field-based public health interventions.
Prof Eram is also serving as the Member Incharge of the Rural Health Training Centre in Jawan, Aligarh. Beyond her academic and research pursuits, she is actively engaged in community outreach initiatives, health awareness campaigns, and collaborative projects aimed at improving health outcomes, particularly in underserved regions of Aligarh.
