University Women’s Polytechnic Celebrates Annual Function 2025 with Grandeur and Purpose

TNN News : The University Women’s Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), celebrated its Annual Function 2025 with spirited enthusiasm and participation. The event highlighted the institution’s strong commitment to academic excellence, technical empowerment, and the all-round development of young women.
The chief guest on the occasion Prof. Mohd Mohsin Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor of AMU, applauded Women’s Polytechnic’s continuous strides in advancing women’s technical education. He emphasized the importance of institutions like UWP in shaping confident, capable, and globally competent leaders. He encouraged students to pursue their goals with purpose and integrity, underlining the role of education in transforming both lives and societies.
Prof. Afshan Bey, Provost, S.N. Hall, and Prof. Tahira Parveen, Chairperson, Department of Electronics Engineering, attended as Guests of Honour. They praised the academic culture of the Polytechnic and motivated students to set high aspirations while maintaining a commitment to lifelong learning.
Dr. Salma Shaheen, Principal, University Women’s Polytechnic, presented a comprehensive Annual Report, detailing the year’s major accomplishments—including training programmes, workshops, and collaborative activities. She highlighted students’ notable achievements in academics, innovation, and extracurricular endeavours, as well as faculty milestones and future initiatives aimed at enhancing the learning environment.
A key highlight of the event was the Prize Distribution Ceremony of CALIX-25 (Polyweek), recognizing outstanding student contributions in technical and cultural domains. Winners of various events, project teams, RoboClub members, and volunteers were felicitated for their dedication, ingenuity, and spirited participation.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sheeba Kamal and Dr. Savita Gautam, In-charges of the Polytechnic Society. The programme was anchored by Ms. Syeda Shira Moin.
Dr. Savita Gautam concluded the event with a vote of thanks, marking the end of a memorable celebration that reinforced the Polytechnic’s mission of nurturing empowered, innovative, and socially conscious women professionals.
