AMU Faculty Member Conducts Session on Case-Based Teaching at Christ University FDP

TNN News : Professor Salma Ahmed, Chairperson, Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University, was invited as a resource person to the five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Empowering Educators: Innovative Pedagogies for a Transformative Tomorrow”, organized by Christ (Deemed to be University), NCR Campus, Ghaziabad.
Professor Ahmed highlighted the enduring relevance of the case method of teaching, first introduced by Harvard Business School in 1921. She noted that the method remains as significant today as it was a century ago, having withstood the test of time in management education.
During her sessions, she explored what constitutes an effective case study and how to generate compelling case ideas. She shared a detailed framework for case writing, coupled with practical exercises, enabling participants to transform their ideas into well-developed case drafts and teaching notes. Her hands-on approach, which included group assignments and personalized feedback, helped participants create impactful cases suited for both academic and professional contexts.
