Jamia Millia Islamia’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship organizes Two-Day International Conference on “Viksit Bharat @2047
TNN News : The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), successfully organized a two-day International Conference on “Viksit Bharat @2047: Charting a Path Through Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Global Careers” on April 16 and 17, 2025. The conference aimed to foster dialogue on India’s entrepreneurial roadmap for 2047 by bringing together innovators, start-ups, academicians, and policymakers.
The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest and Chief Patron of the conference, Prof. Mazhar Asif, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia. The Guest of honour of the conference, Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Taab Siddiqui, Founder of Harvest Gold, graced the occasion as Guests of Honour. The Keynote Address was delivered by Mr. Corey Glickman, Founder, Greenman Black, USA, who shared valuable insights on global innovation ecosystems.
The conference featured addresses from Prof. Mini S. Thomas, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Prof. Simi Malhotra, Professor In-charge, CIE, who emphasized the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in nation-building. In conjunction with the conference, a Start-up Expo was organized, where over 30 start-ups showcased their innovative products and services. Prominent start-ups such as ENORD, KRISHI Grow, and Back2Basics were part of the exhibit, offering attendees a glimpse into India’s thriving entrepreneurial landscape.
The conference hosted multiple tracks and sessions, with over 80 research papers presented by scholars and practitioners. Key highlights included Pitching Sessions, Business Model Canvas workshops, Investor Meets, and Entrepreneurs’ Conclaves. Renowned entrepreneurs who participated in these sessions included: Mr. Sunil Chopra, YourWin Coach & Serial Entrepreneur; Dr. Nagma Abbasi, Founder & CEO, NextGen Life Sciences; Ms. Meghna Majithia, Founder, Apexlynx; Dr. Shikha Sharma, Founder, OneHealth and Mr. Sathish Kumar J, CEO, Cross Border Power Transmission Co. Ltd.
The Valedictory Session was held at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Auditorium on April 17, 2025. Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, Jamia Millia Islamia, and Patron of the Conference, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Sathish Kumar J was the Guest of Honour. Prof Rizvi in his address discussed the key objectives and vision of the Government of India’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ 2047 initiative emphasizing on its major thrust areas ranging from achieving a $30 trillion economy to education reform and health, geared towards transforming the nation’s future.
Awards were distributed to the Best Paper Presenters, Advisors, Conveners, and the Conference Coordinator. Prof. Rihan Khan Suri, Director, CIE, expressed his gratitude to all participants and emphasized that this conference marks a new beginning for the Centre. He reiterated that Jamia Millia Islamia will continue to play a pivotal role in achieving the Prime Minister’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
