Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS) Signs MoU with
National Sports University (NSU) Imphal, Manipur
The Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS – NaMo Kendra) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Sports University (NSU) in Imphal, Manipur. This academic collaboration is focused on promoting research and excellence in the fields of sports education, governance, and other related subjects. The main goal of this MoU is to foster collaboration between CNMS and NSU in order to advance the study and development of sports education in India. Both institutions plan to work together on research projects, organize academic exchanges, and hold seminars, workshops, and other programs that will help improve sports governance and education. This partnership is in line with India’s vision of becoming a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047, and it also supports initiatives under the National Education Policy.
National Sports University acknowledges the significant role CNMS has been playing asạ global think tank, bringing together thought leaders, scholars, and professionals to address critical governance and societal challenges. The focus of CNMS on areas such as sports education, Sports science research, public policy, international relations, and innovation resonates deeply with the mission and
vision of NSU. National Sports University is also committed to advancing excellence in sports education, research, and training. Both CNMS and NSU to undertake collaborative research projects in sports science, governance, and related fields, facilitate academic exchanges to promote knowledge sharing among scholars, students, and faculty and Organize seminars, workshops, and programs that align with shared objectives, such as “Viksit Bharat 2047” and initiatives under the National Education Policy.
The academic collaboration with NSU would help CNMS further its mission to contribute to the growth of sports education and research in India. CNMS is committed to supporting the development of a strong foundation for sports in India and beyond. The academic partnership also aims to provide new opportunities for research, academic progress, and innovation in the fields of sports education and governance. These opportunities will benefit students, researchers, and faculty members in both institutions.
CNMS has also decided to set up a six-member committee. This committee will drive the key projects that will be undertaken under the MoU. The committee will include some of India’s most celebrated athletes, such as P.T. Usha, Sania Mirza, and Neeraj Chopra. These sports icons will bring their valuable experience and expertise to the table, ensuring that the projects benefit from their insights into the future of sports education and governance. CNMS and NSU hope to create more opportunities for the growth of sports education and governance in India. Their efforts will also support the larger vision of making India a developed nation by 2047, especially in the field of sports.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 06 February 2025, with Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman of the Centre for Narendra Modi Studies, as the signatory from the Centre, and Prof. Usha S. Nair, Vice Chancellor (Officiating) signed on behalf of the National Sports University.
The MoU between CNMS and NSU marks an exciting new chapter for sports education in India. The collaboration is expected to create new avenues for research, academic exchanges, and innovation, which will positively impact students, faculty members, and researchers. It also strengthens India’s goals for holistic development and sports excellence, ultimately contributing to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
